Magic lens, after dreaming about getting it for many years I finally got it used. Good on 5d3 but on R6 thanks to the af system has a new life and it’s tack sharp even at f1.4

The 200mm f1.8 'Eye of Sauron' (no IS) is rarer, and more expensive, but the f2 is newer and, I think, a better lens.

I’ve seen this lens listed for sale used on Kijiji for CAD$4700 😂. So I am sticking with the RF 135mm f1.8L. But I definitely appreciate what the 200mm is capable of

Loving this lens on the Sony A7CR - amazing style at F1, but it’s an effect not to be overdone. This amazing lens starts becoming really sharp at F2. Heavy, so do consider the other Voigtländer alternatives.

Thank you for a nice video. Yet I was not thrilled by the RF 50/1.2 as much when I was hands-on testing it. It was perhaps because I already did own the Sigma 40/1.4 which is a real marvel. And it actually betters the Canon technically - vignetts less especially wide opened (but still at f/2), lacks any CA issues which time to time occur with Canon, has full metal body vs not the best feeling plastic on Canon, focuses a bit faster then Canon. Sharpness is the same from wide opened. But the mail difference is in bokeh. Sigma has it smoother, with milder transitions and with less harshness when the background gets busy. It gives it notably better 3D pop for shots like the full body portrait. And this just for a 1/3 of the cost of Canon. I do not want to be a Sigma advocate here or leave an impression thar the RF is not a good lens. It is for sure. And it is fully usable wide opened and delivers fantastic pictures. Sigma is also heavier and longer when used on RF body with an adapter. Just mentioning for the curiosity, how good the "cheapo" Sigma really is!

My only complaint on the R3 is it does not have 2 CFExpress card slots, otherwise it is a huge step up from my 1Dx Mark II. Thank you for sharing this video.

Sold all my canon gear including RF 50 1.2 RF 70-200 2.8 and RF 28-70 2 I found them extremely noisy for af. And bad for video

It`s clinical sharp. to much technical perfection and no emotion at all.

I have owned this lens in the past and it was incredible to say the least. My favorite is the 85mm f1.2

Shots I take with this lens brings me right back to the 90's - a truly magical time.

I got the a great deal on an excellent used Q2M and have not looked back. This camera definitely takes you back to the basics of photography and you gain a whole new perspective. The limitations are liberating and requires you to actually think - imagine that!

Great camera. Accept the comments on 28mm and 60mp. But you can get the wide angle converter for the Fuji to give 28mm FF equivalent at f2 and still 40mp, albeit on a smaller sensor. Whilst I’d love a Q3, for us normal folk, the Fuji does 80 to 90% of the images we want. Yes I know all the FF v APSC stuff but in reality I can print great A2 prints from my Fuji many straight from the film sims. I’m not doing exhibition stuff with it. If so I’d use my Canon pro DSLR kit and pay the weight penalty. Pro gear for top quality work and exhibitions. My Fuji is for travel, city and family stuff. The Leica will attract as much attention as a Rolex in many European cities. I value my well-being too much….

Great parody on GxAce. I liked his style, but he got too carried away with hyping up useless equipment, and his aesthetic techniques began to repeat themselves. And an excellent choice of lens - 50 1.2 - literally the worst 50mm lens Canon ever produce. Even if we don't talk about the price, any 50 1.8 or 50 1.4 is simply better. GxAce also likes to praise all kinds of overpriced equipment. Not everyone will understand, but I see what you're doing - well done.

if only it were as small and compact as the fm2. But even at Leica it took a long time for the digital M to shrink to its original size.

You pay three grand for one of the best 35mm lenses ever made and they give you a camera behind it for free. I had the RX1R ll but in the end I couldn’t live with the terrible menu system and practically impossible manual focus, the autofocus was still very much in its infancy. I now have an A7CR on order. What else?

As you move forward in your photography journey, you’ll come across lenses that are way more exiting that 85L…no pun intended against the beautiful lens.
